Social Media Use & Responsibility

t-h-i-n-k-3It is important that students understand a few things about social media:

  1. Just because you typed instead of said it, does not make negative commentary okay.
  2. Even if you think it’s anonymous, there is something called an IP address that can track where the post was published. Meaning, you can be found pretty easily.
  3. You can be held responsible both legally and at your school site for using social media incorrectly. (Depending on what you have posted)
  4. Social media is wonderful, when used responsibly and safely. Remember that your behavior (face-to-face or online) is important.
